71st China National Pharmaceutical Fair to Open on April 26
The 71st China National Pharmaceutical Fair (PharmChina) organized by Reed Sinopharm Exhibitions will take place during April 26-28 at Suzhou International Expo Center.
Showing over 100,000 products and services
With 3,400 booths and 70,000-square-meter exhibition area, PharmChina is the biggest fair in the pharmaceutical industry of China.
There will be 2,000 exhibitors this year, among which 70% are from top 100 companies in China. They will show to 100,000 visitors chemical and Chinese medicine, OTC drugs, bio-pharmaceuticals, health products, and medical services, while looking for new partners to expand their business.
Non-drug products attracting special attention
Non-drug health product, including medical device and baby & maternal care, is one of the highlights this year.
Chinese market of medical device recorded an aggregate annual growth rate of 21.3% in the past decade to 180 billion yuan, much higher than the average 8.35% in developed countries. It is estimated that 30% of total 100,000 visitors are agents and distributors interested in medical consumables, household appliances, test reagents, technologies, and software.
Since nine state authorities issued a joint order in June 2013 allowing drugstores to sell infant and baby formula, more and more producers have shown great interest in expanding marketing channels beyond supermarkets. Biostime and Wyeth products are now available at Jiangsu Liansheng chain stores and Jinling Pharmacy.
To facilitate communication with 6,000 buyers from 700 drug stores, PharmChina assigns a special area for baby & maternal products.
10 theme forums on industrial reforms and outlook
PharmChina 2014 schedules ten theme forums and over 100 speakers from government, industrial associations, research institutes, and leading companies will discuss hot issues in the field.
The agenda of International Conference on Medical Innovation and Technology Transfer on April 27 includes product release, transfer of new drug project approvals, and meetings with potential investors.
Other concurrent events include the 12th China Forum on Pharmacy Marketing, China Forum on Investing in Drug Distribution, the news release on Chinese pharmaceutical industry, the 5th China Forum of Pharmaceutical Product Managers, and China Forum on Medicine Economy Platform and Strategy.
