New Year running to kick off at YLPTR


Yangcheng Lake Peninsula Tourist Resort (YLPTR) Administrative Committee recently announced to kick off the 2019 YLPTR New Year Running on Jan 1, 2019, as a New Year festivity and a lead-up to the 10th Suzhou Jinji Lake International Half Marathon (SZJLIHM) scheduled March next year. On-line application has started now.

The event reportedly will consist of two running races, including an about- 2.5-kilometer one for families and an about-10-kilometer one for other runners, and a series of celebrations such as art performances, fun games, displays to commemorate SIP'25th anniversary, bazaar and couplet creation competition. The participants will have chances to win prizes in several of the activities.

It is noteworthy that the winners in the running races will receive specially designed medals which, rectangle-shaped and full of local cultural elements, symbolize good luck for the following year.

Moreover, there will be a lucky draw where 25 participants will have the luck to gain entry to the 10th SZJLIHM.
