SIP provides assistance to less-developed areas

Over the past few years, SIP has launched an assortment of programs to help its assistance counterpart Songtao County, which, under the jurisdiction of Tongren city in Southwest China's Guizhou province, is lagging behind in both social and economic development due to its geographical disadvantage and resource shortage.

One of the programs is to make use of Suzhou's modern information technologies and resources to offer education assistance like on-line courses and teacher trainings to nine local primary and middle schools. This has helped the schools greatly improve their teaching quality.

Other programs are also underway across a diverse range of fields, such as investment, trade, infrastructure construction, cultural projects, tourism development and medical services, designed to help the county achieve a better development in an all-around way.
