A variety of events took place at Hudong sub-district recently to welcome the upcoming Christmas.

Mother Tang Charity Center organized several events calling on people to help poverty-stricken children in mountainous areas in other provinces and migrant workers' children in Suzhou. In a few days, enterprises and individuals donated many things like clothes, shoes and school supplies and sent them to the children in need.

Zhongtang Community hosted an event to make Christmas trees on Dec 18. The children made and decorated Christmas trees using environment-friendly materials provided by the volunteers. They also made paper Santa Claus and greeting cards with the help of the volunteers.

Several children wearing Christmas hats and costumes presented apples to security guards who work outdoors in the cold days and wished them "Merry Christmas".

A number of children in Qingnianhui Community took part in a needle felting event on Dec 20. With the help of the community staff, the children poked felt pieces into various shapes such as balls for decorating the Christmas trees.
