Yuan Fang is managing director of Jiangsu Soochow University Tiangong Venture Capital Co., Ltd. Since he founded the Soochow University Tiangong Incubator (SUTI) in 2010, he has introduced and incubated over 200 start-up companies and provided job opportunities for nearly ten thousand university students.

Soochow University sees a large number of "Challenge Cup" projects go into incubation every year. When he was a student of the university, Yuan volunteered to take responsibility for the routine of incubator in an effort to give more support to student entrepreneurs. Upon graduation he joined Soochow University Science and Technology Park, serving as assistant to general manager and secretary of the Youth League Committee. 

In 2010, "Pocket Campus", a project he and his team independently developed, acquired the gold prize at the 7th "Challenge Cup" Chinese University Student Entrepreneurship Plan Competition sponsored by Youth League Central Committee, when he started up the Tiangong Incubator. 

Against the background of "mass entrepreneurship and innovation", Yuan and his team entered into strategic partnership with Bosideng Group and other leading enterprises, teamed up with various universities and research institutes to create professional maker spaces, and set up seed fund, angel fund and accelerator fund amounting to hundreds of millions of RMB yuan.

He discovered and trained leading science and technology entrepreneurship talents, incubated science and technology start-up companies and propel the transformation of scientific and technological achievements by means of start-up incubation, angel investment, entrepreneurship service, etc. 

Yuan has up to now introduced and incubated over 200 start-up companies, including nearly 20 various level science and technology entrepreneurship leading talents, guided investment in 50-plus science and technology projects, led more than 1 billion yuan ($145 million) of social capital joint investment.

He has industrialized up to 100 scientific and technological results, applied for several hundreds of patents of inventions and other intellectual properties, led more than 2,000 university students into entrepreneurship and provided job opportunities for nearly ten thousand university students.

Yuan's hard work has won SUTI such honors as Jiangsu Province First National Level Maker Spaces, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Science and Technology University Student Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Practice Base, Challenge Cup National University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Demonstration Park, etc.
