"Chunhui Cup" winning projects seek partners in Suzhou

The winning projects of 11th "Chunhui Cup" Chinese Overseas Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition (CCCOSIE) came to SIP to seek partners Tuesday morning. 56 winners from abroad attended Suzhou innovation and entrepreneurship environment promotion session, collective discussion, counties and districts' individualized discussions and other activities.

Ministry of Education and Ministry of Science and Technology have held CCCOSIE on a yearly basis since 2006 in a bid to build a platform to attract overseas students to return and start their business in China. Up to the end of 2016, 2001 projects have been selected from the CCCOSIE events.

This year's winners, mainly from the USA, Canada, etc., brought along 56 innovation and entrepreneurship projects that focus on hi-tech and emerging industries like biomedicine, electronic information and nano material and boast high technology content and broad market prospect.

At the collective meeting session, overseas talents had discussions with various entrepreneurship carriers, venture capitals and subsidiary funds.

Han Yue, who returned with the project "Hepatocyte Spheroids Bio-artificial Liver", said, "I'd like to find out about the upstream and downstream development in SIP's medical instruments industry, and the financial and policy support available."

"Talents are particularly valued in Suzhou, and people here have high work efficiency. I'm very confident of the innovation and entrepreneurship environment here," said Liu Lei, a researcher of differentiated pre-school education. According to her, Suzhou's various carriers had contacted every project before they came to Suzhou and laid stress on the projects of special interest to them.

As the host of the event, SIP has always put talent work high on its agenda, trying to push forward the construction of Overseas Chinese Academy Suzhou and perfect the talent housing and rental system.
