China and Britain Enhance Collaboration on Education and Research
A British delegation headed by Mr. Jo Johnson, Minister of State for Universities and Science came to Suzhou Industrial Park on September 22 for exchanges, and visited Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) and the exhibition hall of Dushu Lake Science & Education Innovation District. The visit is aimed to promote collaboration between Britain and Jiangsu Province on innovation and higher education.
In the exhibition hall of Dushu Lake Science & Education Innovation District, the guests listened to a briefing on the development of the district and plans of regional cooperation, and had a detailed update on the status quo of ISIS Suzhou International Technology Transfer Center, and the progress of Oxford OSCAR project, and gave high praise to the two projects with the hope to continue to strengthen cooperation in research, innovation and higher education.
In XJTLU, the delegation made a round of the campus, and witnessed the signing of six MOUs on cooperation, including that with Gold Finance scholarship. Mr. Johnson gave a speech on "close UK-China collaboration on education -- in the field of scientific research and education", and personally unveiled the International Research Center of XJTLU.
