New Building of Microsoft Suzhou Put into Use
The new building of Microsoft Suzhou R&D Center, located in SIP Creative Industrial Park, was officially put into use on the morning of September 21. The new building occupies about 45,000 square meters of construction area, and is able to accommodate more than 1,500 researchers. In the future, the center will focus on innovation and research in artificial intelligence here, with the aim of taking a new synergy effect in sci-tech industry in SIP and even in the whole of Suzhou, and creating the first artificial intelligence "silicon valley" in the world.
Microsoft Suzhou settled down in SIP in 2013 as a brand new innovation base of Microsoft, with research objectives in about a dozen wisdom science projects, including artificial intelligence, machine learning, neural networks, natural language processing, speech recognition, image identification, human-computer interaction, cloud computing and big data, as well as an important role in development and operation of key Microsoft products such as artificial intelligence, Office365 and Bing. After the past three years' development, Microsoft Suzhou has become its parent company's backbone force of hundreds of talents from a mere small-scale R&D team in the beginning. What's more, it is in Microsoft Suzhou that Cortana, the artificial intelligent robot of Microsoft, was born and launched on market.
