The ground breaking ceremony was held on the morning of September 8 for Vacuum Interconnected Nanotech Workstation on an 80-mu land parcel to the south of Ruoshui Road, the north of Yuxin Road, and the west of Dongping Road in Suzhou Industrial Park. The planned total construction area is 52,809 square meters, of which the first phase of 8,377 square meters is expected to be put into use by late 2017.

The technical plan has now been finalized for the ultra-vacuum pipeline system and the sample transmission of the workstation project, contracts signed for 80% of the equipment procurement, and the independently developed key technologies, the test equipment, and related preconceived researches are in smooth progress. Besides, the simulation devices of the workstation has gone through successful test, and the small-scale corroboratory device is expected to go into trial operation for initial researches, and the team of high-caliber core talents are being recruited. Upon completion, the workstation is to become an open public technological experiment platform to achieve crucial technological solutions for future rising industries like nano-electronics by the revolutionary all-vacuum interconnection technologies, to upgrade the independent designing and system integration capability, and to spur on the growth of relevant industrial chains by advanced technology.
