ULVAC Invests in Large-sized Vacuum Film Coating Equipment
On July 18, ULVAC (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. held a commencement ceremony for its localized large-sized vacuum film coating equipment, which marks a strategic shift of ULVAC's large-sized equipment manufacturing towards China. The large-sized equipment in operation now is mainly applied to the vacuum film coating of flat panel displays and solar cells, thus spurring on the development of equipment manufacturing by filling up a blank in the localization of similar equipment in China.
ULVAC (Suzhou) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the world-famous ULVAC, founded in 2003 in SIP with investment of 103.5 million US dollars. The plant has a construction area of 25,289 square meters, and the Phases 1, 2, and 3 are geared to the manufacturing of small and medium-sized vacuum semiconductor equipment, and Phase-4 plant chiefly produces the large-sized G10 linear equipment.
It is reported that, as a wholly-owned flagship plant of ULVAC Head Office in China, ULVAC (Suzhou) has over the years developed a suppliers' industrial chain in the Yangtze Delta region, and fostered a good number of medium and large-sized equipment accessory suppliers. The equipment manufactured here is also sold on the Japanese market as well as in China.
