On the evening of December 16, Suzhou Industrial Park held a Christmas party at Suzhou Culture & Arts Center and invited hundreds of domestic and foreign company representatives to enjoy the new version of Chinese-characteristic ballet "Xi Shi" and greet the upcoming Christmas.

In his speech before the show, Yang Zhiping, Deputy Secretary of CPC SIP Working Committee and Director of SIP Administrative Committee, briefed the participants on SIP's notable achievements this year. Thanks to Department of Commerce of Jiangsu Province, SIP got approval from the State Council to pilot comprehensive experiment on opening up and innovation, which ushered in a new promising course of development. The vitality of enterprises was of paramount importance to SIP's development. This year, though the rate of China's economic development slowed down, SIP still maintained a generally steady and orderly situation in economic development and its economic growth was expected to exceed 8%. In the year 2016, also the beginning year of the 13th "Five-year Plan", SIP would push forward the new "five-year" plan under the leadership of the central, provincial and municipal Party committees.

The ballet "Xi Shi" performed by Suzhou Ballet, with exciting and breathtaking plot, was very attractive. With the integration of Suzhou local culture and ethnic features, the ballet depicted the ups and downs of life of Xi Shi, one of the renowned four beauties of ancient China, in late Spring and Autumn Period (770BC-476BC), when State of Wu and Sate of Yue rivaled for hegemony.
