The 1st SIP Social Entrepreneurship Contest Comes to Successful Conclusion
On August 1, the 1st Suzhou Industrial Park Social Entrepreneurship Contest was successfully concluded at SIP NPO Incubation Hub.
Sponsored by SIP Social Development Bureau and undertaken by SIP Social Innovation Development Center and started in May, the event received applications from 80 social entrepreneurs-to-be, and over three months' competition and trainings, 20 of them came out in the finals as winners of startup awards and 10 as innovation award winners, covering virtually all aspects of social development, such as the traditional public-benefit services, the new-emerging services, environmental resource protection, recuperation of the disabled, daily life info, blending of city life, the growth of adolescents, the community building, etc. According to the organizer, "the social entrepreneurship contest in SIP represents an important initiative in innovating the social organization incubator, by which it is possible to explore excellent public-benefit projects and social organizations that cater to the interest of SIP residents."
SIP NPO Incubation Hub is ready to give further support to the winning projects with backup networks of entrepreneurship sharing, community service opportunity, startup financing, public space interaction, etc.
