Fantastic chairs on display in SIP
The "Art of the Butt" Master Chairs Exhibition organized by Uliving, a Suzhou-based importer of high-end furniture and home supplies, is underway at Harmony Times Square, SIP, and will last till Dec 3. On display are 15 chairs from globally renowned designers, paired with pictures and texts telling the stories behind them.
The exhibits jointly depict the historical course of chair development all over the world. Among them is an adjustable-back chair dating back to 1905 when, for the first time, mechanical techniques were applied in chair design, and the "Dream Chair", Japanese master architect Tadao Ando's first furniture design in 2014.
Moreover, there is a MINI Chair Exhibition, with the scaled-down mockups of 12 classic chairs. Even very tiny details were exactly imitated.
It is reported that parallel exhibitions such as those of limited editions of side chairs and roadsters will be held at Shin Kong Place and other public spaces soon, along with experience activities and interactions with art masters.
