Huihu Academy Cultural Experience Center in Dushu Lake Science & Education Innovation Zone came into service on May 9. The 800-sqm facility featuring strong traditional local cultural characteristics is expected to play a big part in transnational cultural exchanges.

According to the center's operator, various academic exchange and cultural experience events, including those targeting domestic and overseas students, will be organized on a regular basis to help the participants gain a better knowledge of Suzhou city and enhance their mutual interaction.

The first event took place on the same day. Wang Youhua, a professor at Renmin University of China, gave a lecture on The Book of Odes, a collection of oldest Chinese poems, while troupes from Suzhou Pingtan Art School, Suzhou Kunqu Opera Theatre and Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University staged traditional Chinese performances.
