The 14th SIIE attracts hundreds of exhibitors
"In a supermarket in the United States, there are no sales assistants, no cashiers serving you. You pick whatever you want and without waiting the bill will be paid automatically," Liu Depu, executive vice president and secretary of Shanghai Die & Mould Trade Association, introduced the application of artificial intelligence at the forum of Suzhou International Industry Expo (SIIE).
As the most influential industrial feast in Jiangsu Province, the 14th SIIE opened on Mar 16 in Suzhou International Expo Center and will last till Mar 19.
The expo has attracted more than 800 exhibitors from 20 countries all over the world. Covering an area of 45,000 sqm, over 1,000 brands are on display at the exhibition. At the same time, there are seven forums on various topics, including artificial intelligence, green factory, intelligent manufacturing and so on.
Exhibited are some advanced equipment, such as integrated robots and fully automatic sewage treatment plant, featuring decreased labor requirements, dramatically decreased inventory errors and real-time tracking of materials.
Roger Hu, general manager of one of the exhibitors, said that the application of automation increased the production efficiency by 50%.
Suzhou has been turned into one of the significant industrial cities in Yangtze River Delta area with years of quick development. And high-end equipment manufacturing industry has been deemed as the second pillar industry in Suzhou, gathering numerous exhibitors and buyers, which has created a sound environment for the success of SIIE.
