Yan Li Meets Lee Yi Shyan
On Nov. 2, Yan Li, Deputy secretary of CPC Suzhou Municipal Committee and Mayor of Suzhou, met the delegation of Singapore headed by Lee Lee Yi Shyan, Minister of State for Trade and Industry and Vice-chairman of Singapore-Jiangsu Cooperation Council, after the delegation attended the first council meeting in Nanjing.
Singapore-Jiangsu Cooperation Council is the first organization set up between Singapore and a Chinese province to promote and deepen the long-term cooperation between the two sides.
Mayor Yan Li expressed warm welcome to the delegation and said, "Suzhou Industrial Park has become one the most competitive development zones in China as a successful example of friendship and cooperation between China and Singapore. Suzhou and Singapore have forged strong ties of profound friendship through the past dozen years' exchange and cooperation and gathered rich experience." He Hoped that the two sides would develop such relations of cooperation to a higher level in more extensive fields.
Mr. Lee Yi Shyan said: "The remarkable achievements of Suzhou Industrial Park has laid a sound foundation for Singapoer-Jiangsu Cooperation Council. Our delegation has been deeply impressed by the fast development and modernized good planning in SIP." He hoped that the investment projects of Singapore would do a good job in maintaining the reputation of Singapore.
