Headquartered in Buffalo, USA, William Advanced Materials Corporation has plants in California, Taiwan, and Singapore, producing all types of materials and equipment for micro-communication and semiconductors. The plant in SIP will mainly produce films and vacuum plating materials and evaporating materials for semiconductor processing, testing and production. The entry of the company further improved the semiconductor industrial chain in SIP.
Suzhou Industrial Park, certified by Ministry of Information Industry as a national IC industrial park, has over the past 12 years committed to the development of IC industry, and turned out 16% of the output value of the whole IC industry in China. In SIP, an IC industrial chain has been formed with nearly 60 world-famous enterprises ranging from IC designing to silicon Wafer manufacturing, IC testing, equipment and material service, with a total of 6 billion US dollars. SIP has become a base for the clustering of IC industry second only to Shanghai.
More than IC designing enterprises are engaged in R&D in SIP, while the first 8-inch Wafer manufacturer in Jiangsu Province, HeJian Technology, has attained world-class quality of large-dimensioned Wafers. The testing industry is also show a strong, steady momentum in development. By 2005, the total output value of IC industry in SIP had won 1/4 of the Chinese market.
