Li Chaoyuan and Liang Baohua Meet
Deputy Prime Minister Wong Kan Seng of Singapore
On Aug. 23, Li Chaoyuan, Secretary of CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and Chairman of Standing Committee of Jiangsu Provincial People’s Congress, and Liang Baohua, governor of Jiangsu Province, met and had cordial talks with Deputy Prime Minister Wong Kan Seng of Singapore and his delegation in Beijing.
Present at the meeting were Minister Li Yi Shuan and senior officials of Singapore, and Singapore ambassador to China, Mr. Chin Siat Yoon.
Li Chaoyuan and Liang Baohua expressed warm welcome to the delegation headed by Deputy Prime Minister Wang Kan Seng for their visit to Suzhou, Jiangsu, and Beijing, where the delegation was to attend the session of Sino-Singapore Joint Steering Council. Li Chaoyuan says that Suzhou Industrial Park has become one of the most successful industrial development zones in China under the close cooperation and concerted efforts of Chinese and Singaporean sides, and that the concept and experience of Singapore in modern industry, as well as pro-business approach, government service and management, and the training of talents, have been adopted all over Jiangsu, and have exert important influence on other industrial parks in China. Li expressed appreciation for the contribution of government and all walks of life of Singapore in the construction and development of industrial parks in China. He believes that the two sides will further enhance relations of cooperation to achieve better future of SIP.
Mr. Wong Kan Seng expressed thanks for the warm reception by Li Chaoyuan and Liang Baohua, saying that the successful Suzhou Industrial Park has played an exemplary role in China, and Singapore has learned a lot from the cooperation. He says that the two sides will work out better planning for the future of SIP at the forthcoming session of China-Singapore Joint Steering Council. He also welcomed enterprises from Jiangsu to invest and develop in Singapore.
Also present at the meeting were Wang Rong, Member of Standing Committee of CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and Secretary of Suzhou Municipal Party Committee, Vice-governor Zhang Weiguo, Cui Tiankai, Assistant to Foreign Minister, and other Chinese officials.
