Flowserve Suzhou Plant Unveiled
Flowserve Corporation, a global leader in manufacturing flow move and control units and related products, held an official ceremony to unveil Flowserve (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. in SIP few days ago. The newly opened plant combines pumps, valves, and seals manufacturing with world-class equipment and technology, and will supply its products to petroleum, natural gas, power, chemical, and water works, and other industries in China, as well as powerful support for Flowserve operation in Beijing, Shanghai, Dalian, and Shenzhen.
The selection of geographical location of Flowserve in SIP, some 100 kilometers from Shanghai, is a strategic step that will facilitate Flowserve's links with global customers.
Flowserve Corporation has planned to complete the internal expansion of Suzhou facility within 2006, and to conduct trainings for newly recruited employees on the manufacturing and renovation procedures. The company will be fully commissioned by 2007 as a powerful platform to Flowserve's further growth in China, by which time the number of employees will reach 100. The facility will possess designing, assembling, and on-spot testing capability in addition to several production lines for pumps, valves, and seals.
Mr. Lewis Kling, President and CEO of Flowserve Corporation, introduced, "China and the Asian-Pacific region are rising as main motive force in the expansion of Flowserve, and the efficient team in Suzhou will play a leading role our China operation. Suzhou is the ideal city for Flowserve's expansion. Our service to the core industries, petroleum, natural gas, power, and chemical, are developing fast through high-quality manufacturing and localized procurement, and such service will be greatly improved by our Suzhou plant."
Dr. Fu Jiaxian, President of Flowserve China Division, expressed: "Flowserve Suzhou will provide superior products and service in the process industry to promote fast regional growth, and we will exempt the principle of sustainable development through our cooperation with the local communities and by providing solutions to our customers."
At the unveiling ceremony, Zhou Weiqiang, Member of Standing Committee and Vice-mayor of Suzhou, expressed warm congratulations on Flowserve Corporation, and he believed that Flowserve would surely attain its goals of development in Suzhou and the rest of China under the outstanding leadership of Mr. Lewis Kling.
Based on 200 years' experience, the products of Flowserve are all designed to resist high temperature, corrosion, and high pressure, capable of functioning in harsh conditions in remote areas of developing countries and regions. They can provide powerful support to major projects in petroleum, natural gas pipelines, and chemical industry, and other infrastructure construction projects.
