Folk art stands of paper cut and sugar figurines attract swarms of spectators.
Suzhou Int'l Expo Center adorned in gorgeous festival outfit. A giant Santa Clause rose over the center square by the tall glistening Christmas tree. An ice cabin by the entrance enhanced the atmosphere of the "silvery Christmas". Decorations like Chinese paper cuts and happy knots in every corner of the center gave an exotic feel of Christmas to the foreign friends. Outside the main hall, various demonstration stands of local folk arts such as paper cuts and sugar figurines attracted swarms of people waiting for free souvenirs.

A climatic show of Kunqu Opera "Garden Tour" by expatriate ladies.
Performances by Nanjing Acrobatic Troupe and Shaolin hard breezing exercises were warmly applauded by the audience, but the climate of the soiree came when a group of expatriate ladies presented a classic excerpt of Kunqu Opera "Garden Tour" on stage. Their graceful dancing movements and sweet, mellow singing were unbelievably the result of 15 days' practice and rehearsal. The quaint, elegant art of traditional opera, performed by these foreign nationals, is a significant demonstration of SIP as a combined family of the natives, the foreigners, and those from other parts of the country.
The annual Christmas activity has become a festival event with increasing scale and participants each year, showing the fascination and charm of SIP to all guests from around the world. Wang Jinhua, Deputy Secretary of Municipal Party Committee and Secretary of SIP Party Working Committee, and other representatives of Sipac attended the activity.
