SIP Seeks HK Cooperation in Service Sector
SIP held a briefing in Hong Kong on Nov. 30 on promotion of service industries, announcing the major projects of Yangcheng Lake vacation Zone, Central Business District, Round-lake commercial belt, and logistic park, etc.
The first investment promotion campaign held by SIP in Hong Kong is also the largest ever organized by Suzhou in Hong Kong. The main purpose is to introduce the 40-odd projects in some dozen service industries.
Ma Minglong, Chairman of Sipac, expresses at the promotion meeting that in the course of the quickened eastward shifting of major stress of urban development of Suzhou, the all-round construction of the eastern new urban area and CBD has got under way, and the areas around Jinji Lake have become focus of attention, opening up wide prospect for SIP service industries and offering ample business opportunities for Hong Kong enterprises.
Suzhou Industrial Park, the largest project of cooperation between China and Singapore, is situated on the east of the old city proper of Suzhou, be the Jinji Lake. It was started up in 1994, and by now, over 2,100 foreign-funded enterprises have been approved, attracting contracted foreign capital of 22.5 billion US dollars, with paid-up capital of 9.7 billion USD.
