SIP Wins Award for Technology and Talent Promotion
On Sept. 30, the municipal government convened a meeting on the work of technology and talent promotion, presided over by Yan Li, Deputy Secretary of CPC Municipal Committee and Mayor of Suzhou. Yan made an important speech at the meeting, and a number of individuals and districts were given citations for their outstanding work in promoting technology and talents. Suzhou Industrial Park was awarded with the title "advanced region in technology and talent promotion".
Shen Mingde, Deputy Secretary of SIP Party Working Committee and Vice-chairman of Sipac, delivered a speech on behalf of SIP in the exchange of experience at the meeting. In recent years, under the correct leadership of the municipal Party committee and government, SIP has achieved positive results in attracting and motivate talents by policies and construction projects, in retaining talents by adequate services, and in optimizing talents by training. By September 2005, out of the 250,000 employees in SIP are 160,000 employees within the region of China-Singapore cooperation, among whom are 25,000 university graduates, 2,3000 secondary college graduates, 110,000 graduates from technical and other schools. Those with university education comprise 31.4% of the total workforce. SIP will reinforce its efforts in introducing talents, expanding their functions, and improving their working environment, so as to raise the level and quality of the personnel work to make better contributions to the modernization, the reform and opening of Suzhou.
