2016 Suzhou Jinji Lake Int'l Half Marathon Scheduled for March 13
The 7th "Bank of Suzhou" Suzhou Jinji Lake International Half Marathon is scheduled for 8:30 am, March 13, according to the press conference of the half marathon organizing committee on February 29.
Approximate 30,000 runners from China and 40 other countries and regions of five continents are to compete in the four categories of half marathon, short marathon, mini marathon, and family run along the route in picturesque national 5A-class Jinji Lake Scenic Area. Besides, a series of theme activities such as photography contest and babies' marathon are going to be held.
This time, the organizer upgrades security assurance, health care and supply along the route. In the aspect of security assurance, the organizer will strengthen anti-explosion, anti-terrorist, anti-congestion, and anti-stampede mechanism. In the aspect of medical rescue, the organizer will not only set up a fixed medical aid post per 2.5 kilometers along the race route and put 14 ambulances and another 8 auxiliary medical & emergency vehicles on standby at the main venue and along the route, but also keep dynamic monitoring. The organizer also has recruited more than 70 runners who have first-aid experience to accompany the competitors and monitor their physical states in the race. In addition, more than 1,500 volunteers from social organizations, institutions of higher learning, public units and enterprises in the city will provide volunteer service on the site.
