Meeting to examine protection plan for Caoxie Hill Relics
SIP held an expert meeting on March 17 to discuss and examine the protection plan for Caoxie Hill Relics, a key historical and cultural site under state protection.
Caoxie Hill Relics in SIP is a relic with the most complete cultural development sequence found so far in Jiangnan area, referred to as "surveyor's rod for prehistoric culture in Jiangnan" by China's archaeological circle and enjoying reputation in the world's archaeological circle.
With high attention to the protection of Caoxie Hill Relics, SIP Administrative Committee takes the construction of Caoxie Hill Relics Park as a major project during the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-2020). The Park is to be built as a place for showcase of Caoxie Hill culture, rice-farming culture and SIP's distinctive characteristics.
Note: Jiangnan is a geographic area in China referring to lands immediately to the south of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, including the southern part of the Yangtze Delta.
