During Party Secretary Hu Jingtao,s visit to Singapore, he said: "The successful cooperation on the China-Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park project  brings practical advantages to both parties."

An inscription of President Jiang Zeming "With the accelerated development of the SIP, new experiences in economic development are accumulated. These are mutually beneficial for China and its foreign parties."

Singapore Senior Minister Mr. Lee Kuan Yew said: "The success of the Phase 1 development of 8-sq km is  an important milestone for SIP. Both China and Singapore are proud of the results. "

Singapore Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Lee Hsien Loong said, "In spite of the time  and  effort  spent on this project, the achievements have exceeded our expectations."

UK Prime Minister, Mr. Blair, commended SIP to be  a bold and successful experiment for both China and Singapore , and the foreign-invested enterprises in SIP.

Mr. Arthur Van Der Poel, President and CEO of Philips Semiconductor, selected SIP to locate  its new factory premises due to its availability of  potential employees as well as the well-developed technology and logistic facilities.
