DUSHU LAKE INNOVATION DISTRICT OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

Till now, the Dushu Lake Innovation District of Science and Technology has 14 renowned universities and 98 R&D institutions, with students exceeding 40,000. With a strategy of going for internationalization and self innovation, the District creates a sound environment for cultivation of high-level talents and for good transformation of R&D achievements into industrial output, aiming to develop itself into the "Talents Hub" and "New Silicon Valley".

SUZHOU INTERNATIONAL SCIENCE PARK

Suzhou International Science Park covers a planned area of 61 hectares with 1.08 million sqm of floor area, and is designed to develop in six phases with a total investment of 4 billion RMB. The development of the first to fourth phases covers 310,000 sqm along the Jinji Lake Avenue, which has been put into use. The fifth phase lies in the north of Dushu Lake Innovation District of Science and Technology, with around 700,000 sqm of floor space. The sixth phase named "Creative Pump" lies on the Jinji Lake Avenue, characterized by a LOFT style after transformation of old factories. Currently, over 344 high-tech enterprises have settled in the Park, including enterprises of software R&D, integrate circuit development and animation design, which account for 60%, 80% and 80% respectively of the total enterprises of each field in Suzhou city. There have been more than 15,000 high-tech talents, including over 250 start-up entrepreneurs and technical personnel returned from overseas.

BIO-BAY

SIP has been granted by Ministry of Science and Technology and Ministry and Commerce the title of "National Nano-tech Innovation Park", with the Bio Bay as its core area. It's also entitled with the "The Start-up Service Center of Jiangsu Province for High-tech Enterprises", and "China Outsourcing Service Demonstration Base—SIP Bio-pharmaceutical Outsourcing Demonstration Park".

The Bio Bay lies in the Dushu Lake Innovation District of Science and Technology, covering a total area of 86.3 hectare, with 1 million sqm of planned floor area. It is designed into different functional zones, including the R&D zone with R&D complex and independent R&D buildings, the manufacturing zone for pilot test and small-scale manufacturing, the administrative office buildings for various science & technology service agencies, and the service communities with supporting facilities. Up to now, over 140 types of enterprises have settled in Bio Bay, in fields of bio-pharmaceutical, diagnosis technology, medical facilities, R&D outsourcing and nano-tech; and a unique nucleic acid industry union has been set up.

ASCENDAS (SUZHOU) INNOVATION PARK

Ascendas (Suzhou) Innovation Park is developed by a leading tech-park developer from Singapore—Ascendas Pte., Ltd. The Park covers 33 hectare and is developed in two phases. Within the context of green and environmental protection for sustainable development, the quiet campus-like environment in the Park helps inspire innovation of talents working there, and the complete supporting facilities provide them with a work-living-leisure balanced life. The 40,000 sqm construction of high quality office buildings in the first phase will be soon completed by end of 2010.

INNOVATION INDUSTRY PARK

Covering a total planned area of 468,000 sqm, with a planned floor area of 750,000 sqm for R&D buildings, the Innovation Industry Park focuses on development of animation and game, software outsourcing, products designing, etc.

Creative PUMP

With an area of 22,000 sqm finished in the first phase, the Creative Pump is created via the transformation of old factories in an internationalized LOFT concept to provide a low-cost and multi-functional R&D environment for start-up enterprises of art, publication, animation, media and designing etc.

SIP ECOLOGICAL SCIENCE HUB

Located in the northern part of SIP, with Huning expressway and Huning Intercity Railway to its south, and Yang Cheng Lake tourism district to its north, the SIP Ecological Science Hub covers a planned area of 4 sq km and has a planned population of 30,000. As an important incubator for development of green and high-tech industries, the Hub has already brought in 42 companies from home and abroad in the field of eco-environment protection and energy-saving, which cover businesses of water treatment, new energy materials, air purification, environment testing, monitoring and relevant software development.

INTEGRATED FREE TRADE ZONE

The Integrated Free Trade Zone is a special customs-supervised zone with a total planned area of 5.28 sq km. It has the most complete functions, providing services of bonded processing, bonded logistics, import/export trading, testing and maintenance; and it enjoys the most preferential policies like import/export goods rebates. The main positioning of the Zone is to develop a highly efficient virtual port that plays a demonstration role in "All-through Clearance" for the inland regions; To build a multi-functional logistics hub that makes itself a regional commodity distribution center; To nurture a prosperous trading market and become an important platform for purchase, supply and sales in Eastern China; and to attract multi-disciplinary talents and experts in trade and logistics and become a high-end hub of high-level talents.

CBD

SIP is striving to be a world-class business center in Yangtze Delta, becoming an outsourcing center for financial backend services in China, a magnet for headquarters in the Yangtze Delta region, and the most important financial and commercial center in Suzhou.

With highly developing of CBD, modern services will be one of the most important commercial import in SIP, including banks and non-banking financial institutes (such as funds, securities, VC, guaranty and insurance companies) headquarters, various agencies (such as accounting, law consulting, auditing and cost evaluating), and renowned department stores, hotels, travel agencies and commercial trade service such as traditional services).

YANGCHENG LAKE TOURISM RESORT

Located at the most north part of SIP, Yangcheng Lake Tourism Resort is well-known for its beautiful scenery and world-renowned hairy crab. It aims to develop itself into "National Tourism Resort" that involves landscape sight-seeing, holiday villas & hotels, theme parks, F&B and recreation, retail businesses, and sports club, medical center, SPA and eco-housing, etc.
