A Thousand Overseas Students Move to "New Home"
The opening ceremony of the newly built Suzhou Singapore International School was held on Nov. 21, with curtain lifted by Wang Jinhua, Deputy Secretary of Municipal Party Committee and Secretary of SIP Party Working Committee, and **Wu Tianren , Vice President of CSSD, at the ceremony.
Since the founding of Suzhou Singapore International School in 1996, the school has been providing high-quality education of international standards for the children of foreign expatriates, from kindergarten through senior high school to college foundation courses. As the enrollment kept growing each year, and the original campus became too limited to accommodate the growing student body, the school has decided to build a new campus at Zhongnan Street in the central area of SIP. The construction took one year. At the newly built school of 14 hectares, there are first-class scientific labs, library for primary and high school students, theater, swimming pool, and over a hundred well-equipped classrooms. Currently, over 1,100 students from 26 countries are happily pursuing their courses at their "new home". At the opening ceremony, the expatriate students gave wonderful cultural performances and send balloons to the sky to celebrate the occasion with best wishes for a better tomorrow of the school.
