The creative idea of combining exotic performance styles with Tang poems received high acclaim from the participants of the festival.

“I’m lucky to have the chance to join iSING! Suzhou and know better about the beautiful and fantastic ancient Chinese poems. It is a great challenge to perform the songs, but also a good chance to learn the profound Chinese culture,” said Artem Tarasenko, a Russian artist.

The artists’ hard work in rehearsals paid off. They received warm applause from the audiences.

The conductor Lin Daye also gave high praise to the concert. “It’s not a traditional concert, but one with well-integrated elements that can help convey the themes of friendship, family affection, love for homeland and peace to the world,” he said.

“We hope the combination of music and literature can give Tang poems a new life and help disseminate Chinese culture home and abroad. That’s one of the missions of the festival,” said Tian Haojiang.
