Home to over 3,800 cultural enterprises, SIP is seeing a boom in cultural export, especially after the Chinese government brought forward the Belt and Road Initiative that is designed to connect the East Asian and European economic circles for win-win cooperation. SIP’s latest statistics record 12 cultural export projects last year, mostly targeting countries and regions covered by the Belt and Road Initiative.
For example, SIP-based ORI Animation and its partners in Saudi Arabia jointly produced an animated TV series “Kong Xiaoxi and Hakim”. The series tells a story about a Chinese boy and his Saudi Arabian friend who learn more and more about each other’s cultures in the process of looking for Chinese recipes that can help Hakim protect his family-run restaurant from its rival restaurant’s malignant competition. Concurrently, Da Yu, another company in SIP, has translated its award-winning animated series “Little Monk Yichan” into Korean, Vietnamese and other languages for overseas release.
With the achievements, SIP is quickening the pace to build related platforms and host various events such as exhibitions, fairs and project promotions to help local cultural enterprise seek opportunities for overseas development.
