SIP Tax Bureau, SIP Public Culture Center and Jinji Lake Overseas Investment Service Alliance recently hosted an information session in an effort to give local enterprises a leg up in seeking development overseas. Representatives from about 50 local enterprises and public institutions were present.

At the event, a staffer from International Taxation Management Division at SIP Tax Bureau, gave the participants a detailed account of tax policies in countries and regions covered by China’s Belt and Road Initiative aimed at improving regional cooperation and connectivity on a trans-continental scale, and offered solutions for related tax issues based on real cases.

According to Jiang Feihong, an official at the division, the bureau has taken a series of measures over the past few years to help enterprises engaged in international business operations enjoy overseas tax privileges, cope with related disputes and avoid tax risks.

In addition to policy interpretation, the bureau handed out magazines it compiled and brochures with answers to a list of common tax-related questions to the participants, while staffers from the other two authorities offered advice on overseas investment and project operation.

SIP Tax Bureau disclosed that it plans to hold a symposium on tax affairs later at SIP’s BioBay to give biomedicine companies there a helping hand in going global.
