Toastmasters speech contest wraps up in SIP

Organized by Toastmasters International, a US-headquartered nonprofit educational organization that operates clubs worldwide for the purpose of promoting communication and public speaking skills, the D85 Division S Area 1 Speech Contest took place at Jinji Lake Workstation, SIP on Mar 30. A total of 18 local contestants competed in three speech contests in Chinese or English, and the winners were announced later the day.

It is learnt that the organization, founded in 1924, each year hosts a series of Humorous, Evaluation, Tall Tales, Table Topics and International speech contests. The competition begins at club levels, and then winners continue competing through the area, division and district levels.
