SIP Moon Bay Community Working Committee recently launched a program to offer a series of courses at the local community working stations and resident liaison center, with the purpose of helping the children of the migrants from other parts of the country better understand local culture and history.

The courses boast diversified forms. In the first session at Hanlin Building Community Working Station on Aug 24, a sinology teacher gave the children a specific introduction to Fan Zhongyan, a prominent Suzhou-born statesman, strategist, educator and writer living from 989 to 1052 in the Northern Song Dynasty (960-1127). The teacher started the event with a question to arouse the children's interest, and then told them a succession of stories about Fan's life and feats.
