Jinxingyuan Community in Xietang Sub-district organized a DIY event on Aug 19 in an attempt to help local residents acquire a better knowledge of Hanfu, or traditional Han Chinese clothing, which refers to clothes Chinese wore in the Han Dynasty (206 BC to 220 AD). A number of local youngsters and their parents participated.

The volunteer teacher started the event with a specific introduction to the origin, development, composition and categories of the traditional clothing. Afterward, she taught the participants to make clothes featuring the fashion step by step from design to cutting and sewing fabric pieces.
