The 2018 Suzhou "Sunshine Sports" Primary and Middle School Students' Golf Match kicked off at Jinji Lake Golf Club, SIP on Aug 20. More than 60 little players competed in four groups, and the winners emerged after fierce rivalries.

The event, sponsored by Suzhou Sports Bureau and Education Bureau, is aimed at increasing youngsters' interest in the sport. According to Liu Jinrong, deputy secretary general of Suzhou Golf Association, the event organizer, this year saw the most participants aged 8 to 10, indicating that golf is growing more and more popular among younger children.

It is reported that several of the participants will have the chance to join the 12-member Suzhou team to play at the youngsters' golf contest scheduled in Wuxi from Sept 3 to 5 as part of the 19th Jiangsu Sports Games.
