Two quarterly programs undertaken by SIP's Dushu Lake Resident Liaison Center have won great popularity for they have greatly enriched local residents’ cultural and spiritual life.

One of the programs gives the residents chances to experience the charm and essence of stage plays. In the event on May 13, Soochow University Dongwu Drama Troupe gave two performances, one about smartphone addiction and one adapted from a Japanese farce, stirring waves of laughter from the audiences. Several of the residents also tried role play based on a script in the interaction session.

Under the other program, concerts designed to widen the residents' knowledge on various musical instruments are held each season. In the event on May 19, a group of teachers from Shandong University (Suzhou) Research Institute performed beautiful songs with pipa and guzheng, two traditional Chinese musical instruments, and several children learnt to play the instruments from the performers.
