Suzhou Disabled Persons' Federation hosted a two-day handiwork fair at SIP's Harmony Constellation Building last weekend to mark the National Day for Assisting Disabled Persons, which, annually observed nationwide on the third Sunday in May, fell on May 20 this year.

On display and sale were over 100 handiworks like pottery ware, embroideries, paintings and calligraphy works from the physically and mentally challenged people in the city. The exhibits demonstrate these people's optimistic attitude towards life and persistent pursuit for self-independence. The federation staff said money raised in the event will be used to help people with similar plights.
