Communities at Hudong sub-district hosted a diversity of events from May 8 to 10 to welcome Mother's Day on May 13.

In some of the events, the mothers enjoyed several happy hours together. There were parties, where they gave performances like singing and dancing and chatted with each other, and DIY activities, where they learnt to make flower arrangements and various handiworks. In the event at Zhongtang Community, the participants celebrated birthday for an 83-year-old lady.

Some of the events offered the children opportunities to show their love for their mothers. In a flea market, the children sold and exchanged their articles to prepare gifts for their mothers. In other events, the children drew pictures or made bouquets for their mothers.

Staff from Fangzhou sub-district and Langke Community visited the child patients who are fighting against hematological diseases at Suzhou Children's Hospital and gave their festival greetings to the children's mothers.
