Alisports, in which Chinese tech giant Alibaba has a controlling stake, signed strategic cooperation agreements with Dushu Lake Science & Education Innovation Zone (DLSEIZ) and Dushu Lake Science & Education Development Co Ltd on May 9 to provide technical support for a series of smart sports facility construction projects in the area.

Based on the agreements, Alisports will use its advanced artificial intelligence and Internet of Things technologies to help Dushu Lake Sports Center improve its functions and services. Additionally, a smart running track is on the schedule.

"The project will enable data on heart rate, coordinates and other indicators to be directly transmitted from the track to the runners' smart bracelets, instead of via cellphones," Alisports Vice President Wang Yimin said.
