Shengpu Sub-district recently saw a variety of events to mark the Arbor Day, annually observed on different days in different countries, which falls on Mar 12 in China. On the day, people plant trees to raise the public's awareness of environmental protection.

In the event in Binjiangyuan Community on Mar 11, the participants planted mangroves with the help and instruction of a volunteer teacher from a local horticulture club.

The event in Wusong Community took place at the Wusong Kindergarten's planting plot on Mar 12. The community staff offered tools and seedlings to the children and taught them to plant the seedlings step by step.

Xingpu Community organized an event of similar kind at Ruixiang Kindergarten, where the community staff and the teachers and children planted various vegetables together.

In Jinyuan Community, dozens of Communist Youth League members planted over 300 saplings on Mar 12.
