The annual volunteer service event themed "Warmth in Spring Breeze" sponsored by SIP Hudong Community Working Committee kicked off at Hudong Neighborhood Center Square on March 3, gathering local administrative staff, volunteers, enterprises and social organizations that provided 78 kinds of volunteer services to the local residents.

The administrative staff from different departments explained in detail their services to the residents and offered them advice on how to acquire the services. For example, those from SIP Social Security and Provident Fund Management Center expounded on the local policies on social insurance and housing fund to the residents, while those from the tax department answered the residents' inquiries about their rights and obligations related to taxes.

A total of 28 social organizations including Mother Tang Charity Center and Bo'ai Mutual Assistance Society introduced their public-benefit programs to the residents and offered handy services like massage and health consultancy.

In addition, a number of enterprises offered helps to the residents based on their expertise. For instance, staff from a communication equipment manufacturer imparted knowledge on radiation protection to the residents, and volunteers from a high-tech enterprise repaired computers for them.

Concurrently, the sub-district's "Volunteer Service Month" program kicked off, with over 70 volunteer service events on schedule for the following one month.
