Xietang Sub-district recently saw several events to mark the Chinese Lantern Festival, which, reckoned on the fifteenth day of the first month on the Chinese lunar calendar, fell on Mar 2 this year.

Heyun Community hosted an event on Mar 1, when the residents raced to guess the riddles on nearly 100 festival lanterns and those who gave the right answers received gifts like toothpastes and soaps.

Xietang Community organized an event on Mar 2, when the residents and volunteers made and enjoyed rice glue balls (small dumpling balls made of glutinous rice flour with sweet fillings) together.

Xingzhouwan Community hosted an event of similar kind on the same day. The community staff also presented the rice glue balls to the local security guards, sanitation workers and seniors as festival gifts.
