Communities at Hudong sub-district recently carried out a series of events aimed at arousing different groups' legal awareness.

Staff from Donghu Dajun, Aoyun, The Fifth Element, Fengqing Shui'an and International Waterfront communities jointly organized an event for this purpose on Feb 13, targeting the workers from China Construction Third Engineering Bureau Co Ltd who work for a construction project in SIP.

In the event, the lawyers from several local law firms expounded on laws and regulations related to the workers' interests and rights as well as offered advice on how to deal with various legal issues. The community staff distributed over 100 handouts on fireworks and firecrackers bans, safe production and legal assistance to the workers.

Langke Community held an event targeting business operators on Feb 26, when the community staff handed out brochures edited by a local lawyer to the business operators, trying to help them better understand the 10 legal issues which are among the top concerns of employers and employees, such as those related to labor contracts, liabilities for breach of contract and overtime work.

In Zhongtang Community, a lawyer gave a lecture to the staff of the community's property management company, imparting related legal knowledge to them based on real cases and answering their inquiries.

Linrui Community organized a law-themed lantern riddle guessing event on Feb 25. The event helped disseminate legal knowledge among the local residents in an interesting way.
