Over 20 musicians from Suzhou Symphony Orchestra (SZSO) went out on a spring outing in Dongshan Town, Wuzhong District, Suzhou. They staged a flash mob performance at Xi's Garden, including brass quartet, duet of double bass and trombone, wind quintet, string quartet, etc. Their fair-sounding melodies, penetrating the tranquil bamboo grove, were intoxicating.

Dongshan is a peninsula on Taihu Lake, bounded by water on three sides. In ancient times, many generals and ministers and refined scholars visited or lived in Dongshan, leaving many scenic spots and historic sites. Situated at the foot of a hill and beside a stream, Xi's Garden boasts garden landscape in graceful disorder and Nanmu Hall built in Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), where visitors can experience authentic and elegant "Suzhou-style life".

To Chen Guangxian, president of SZSO, the spring outing is good for the musicians from different countries and regions to better understand each other and strengthen their sense of unity. Perfect combination between oriental beauty and Western music will bring inspiration to Western musicians when they play Chinese music.
