Buddhism believers gathered at Chongyuan Temple on Jan 27, the eve of China's Lunar New Year of the Rooster, to attend the temple's 10th "Jing Touxiang" activity to burn incense and pray to Buddha for good fortune in the new year.

Monk Qiushuang, abbot of the temple, started the Buddhist service at Hall of Sakyamuni at 11pm. All the monks chanted Buddhist scriptures together to pray for good health and peaceful life of the people and bumper harvest of the country.

Monk Qiushuang rang the first bell toll at 12pm to greet an auspicious Chinese New Year. Amidst the chime of the bell, the believers spent a joyous and peaceful Chinese New Year's Eve.
