Little New Year (Chinese: Xiaonian), usually a week before the Chinese Lunar New Year, falls on February 1 this year.

On that evening, at Parfait Cafe with auspicious decorations and jubilant atmosphere, more than 40 foreign students from Britain, France, Germany and some other countries, gathered together with several Chinese families to learn Suzhou dialect, woodblock printing of New Year pictures, and Chinese calligraphy, to experience a joyful Spring Festival in advance. As a part of a series of activities entitled "Foreigners come to my home", the above-mentioned activity was named "I spend the Spring Festival in SIP".

The activity is sponsored by "Study at Dushu Lake" platform and SIP Publicity (Spiritual Civilization) Office, assisted by Xi'an Jiaotong Liverpool University, SKEMA Business School, and KIT (Karlsruher Institute of Technology) China Branch, etc.
