The 2019 Environmental Protection Projects Competition was held in SIP on July 10 as part of the 11th Venture Week for International Elites that opened in Suzhou on the same day. Eleven environmental protection projects selected out of over 100 projects from seven countries including China, Canada, Germany and New Zealand competed in the event.

The event, jointly sponsored by Suzhou Bureau of Industry and Information Technology and SIP Administrative Committee, was aimed at inspiring creative ideas for environmental protection and promoting cooperation in related projects.

After the jury panels evaluation and deliberations based on the project teams presentations, two Chinese projects, one for distributed sewage treatment and the other for recycling of waste plastics, won the top two places along with money prize and policy support.
