An inspection team led by Chen Zhenyi, director of the Standing Committee of Suzhou People’s Congress, visited SIP on May 7 to check the water pollution prevention and control measures in the area and related law enforcement. 

The inspection team first had a meeting with related local officials, when they listened to their reports on SIP’s legal system, working mechanisms, fiscal allocation and infrastructure construction targeting water pollution and offered advice for the future work. The meeting also included a questionnaire survey designed to test the participants’ knowledge of related laws and regulations, and one-on-one talks with local officials in charge of specific projects. 

Later that day, the inspection team visited Litang River, Yangcheng Lake Water Works, SIP No. 2 Sewage Plant and other five places to learn about the progress of the water conservation and protection projects underway there.
