SIP broke ground on a new project on Dec 20, planning to invest RMB 230 million to build a new hospital named Xingtang Hospital, which is expected to come into operation in June 2020.

The project will become the fourth second-class public general hospital in SIP after its completion. With a total land area of 14,000 sqm and a total floor space of 36,000 sqm, it will boast integrated departments like those of internal medicine, surgery, gynecology and obstetrics, geriatric rehabilitation, traditional Chinese medicine and preventive health care as well as advanced medical equipment.

According to Gu Sanqiang, director of SIP Social Development Bureau, the project will play an important part in SIP's strategy to construct a 15-min health service circle, which is designed to help the local residents acquire timely and convenient medical services through the cooperation and coordination between the local medical and health institutions.
