SIP Traffic Police Brigade recently issued a notice that the Modern Road renovation project would start on July 10. The project is expected to take six months.

The project starts from Xinghua Street (excluding the intersection) in the west and extends to Qingqiupu Bridge in the east, covering a length of about 3,700m.The driveways on both sides of the road will be renovated.

The project will be carried out in two phases. During its implementation, the road section concerned will be half enclosed and motor vehicles will only be allowed to run on the left half of the road. The Fengli Street and east-west Changyang Street will be completely closed to motor vehicles (but not to non-motor vehicles). Motor vehicles can take No. 312 National Road, East Suhong Road and Zhongxin Road during this period.
