On May 17, the Plaza of Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP) Sports Center was unveiled officially as the first sports park shopping center in China with construction area of over 100,000 square meters. It is reported that there will be 56 badminton courts, 36 table tennis courts, 18 basketball courts, public square and free children's amusement park in SIP Sports Center.

Taking a land area of 470,000 hectares with construction area of 360,000 square meters in total investment of 4.8 billion yuan, SIP Sports Center is the only A-class sports complex set up jointly by the municipality and the district. Besides the plaza, there are also a gymnasium, a stadium and a swimming gym. Some brands have already settled down in the center, such as Eurojoy Skating Rink.

By now the main structure of civil engineering of SIP Sports Center has been finished and the project is expected to be completed in August 2017.
